International Conference on Light and Light-based Technologies

Kelvin Nanotechnology’s VP Sales and Marketing, Dr Alka Swanson will be speaking as part of the International Conference on Light and Light-based Technologies. This event is the second annual conference held by the Photonics Application and Research Center at Gazi University, Turkey. The event celebrates International World Light Day (16th May 2021), highlighting light-based research and technology. This years conference themes are photonics, spectroscopy and microscopy techniques, lasers and quantum optics.

The event runs from 26th to 28th May 2021; Alka will be speaking on Friday 28th May at 16.30 BST (18.30 Turkey). She will join an array of inspirational speakers from around the world, from varied backgrounds including optics, photonics, quantum and metrology.

The conference is being held online and is free to attend. Registration for the event:

Dynamic Device Characteristics and Linewidth Measurement of InGaN/GaN Laser Diodes

This paper uses a parameter extraction method to investigate key parameters in GaN-based DFBs, as well as spectral linewidth measurements. Single-wavelength blue laser diodes are becoming a topic of significant research interest and gaining a better understanding of the device performance will allow improvements in design and ultimately improve their use in a number of commercial applications. To the authors’ knowledge this is the first reporting of these parameters in GaN devices.
